Animated Background System
About this Project
Developed a fully custom animated background for the entire NOTEorious app, featuring a dynamic grid of floating elements, smooth transitions, and performance-optimized rendering.
Alive but calm
A grid of floating, rotating circles gives the whole app gentle motion without stealing attention.
Never the same twice
Positions, sizes, opacity, and colors are all randomized, so the pattern never visibly repeats.
Smooth on real phones
Animation controllers and an optimized painter keep it at full frame rate on mid-range devices.
Theme aware
The palette adapts to light and dark mode, so the motion always sits behind the content rather than on top of it.
Continuous animation is a battery and smoothness risk on mobile. The painter had to be profiled and rewritten until dozens of moving circles cost almost nothing per frame.
The system runs behind every screen of NOTEorious and became the visual identity of the app.
